We’re delighted to have Alastair Little, one of Britain’s most respected chefs, heading up our kitchen team. Alastair has a distinguished 40-year career and has owned various famed London restaurants but has now popped up in Castlecrag after running The Little Bistro, a ‘pop up’ for the Merivale Group in Sydney’s CBD, where he received much critical acclaim!
Alastair is passionate about Italian food and in fact wishes he was born Italian, rather than in the cold north of England! He’s spent many summers in Italy at venues in Umbria, Tuscany, Veneto and Sicily where he taught Italian cooking to guests from all over the world (including his wife Sharon, an Aussie, who luckily for us brought him back to Sydney!)
Like us, Alastair’s passion is fresh, wholesome Italian food, his motto “use the best produce and keep it simple” – not surprisingly this is reflected in the title of one of his many recipe books!
